Paris, 9 January 1989, precisely 30 years ago: representatives of 23 European science centres & museums gathered at Cité des sciences et de l'industrie lay the foundations of Ecsite.

On the agenda: discussing the "how" of a future 'European Collaborative for Science, Industry and Technology Exhibitions' - in short Ecsite. The network's original focus was the joint development of exhibitions. Our mission, membership and scope have evolved over time, together with the field of science engagement - it's been quite a journey and we'd like to thank all the individuals and organisations who contributed to it!
