Newcomers started early with a networking breakfast, before joining all other attendees at the Opening event, whose speakers included Peter Dröll, Acting Director of the ‘Innovation Union and European Research Area’ at the European Commission.

The conference’s Business Bistro opened its doors for the morning coffee break. For the rest of the day, participants were able to pick and choose between ten parallel session strands: travelling exhibitions customer services, planetariums, press ethics and many more were discussed and debated… In the evening everyone re-convened for the Gala Dinner, held at a stunning winery at the foot of the Dolomite mountains.

The winner of the 2015 Ecsite Creativity Award was announced there: the Norsk Teknisk Museum, Norway, for the TING exhibition.

At the same event, Brigitte Coutant, long-standing science engagement advocate and contributor to the Ecsite network, was made Ecsite Honorary Fellow.
