NANOPINION is a 30-month FP7 project set to begin in early 2012 and currently in the final stages of negotiation. The focus of the project is developing a new outreach-dialogue model aiming to assess the opinion and attitudes of different publics to nanotechnology, in view of incorporating them into coherent policy responses. Controversial issues should receive special attention. Hence, the following actions will be undertaken:

  • (i) develop appropriate tools to survey public attitudes on nanotechnology, with special attention for controversial issues;
  • (ii) set up monitoring stations, networks and infrastructures on nano-dialogue to respond to specific needs (e.g. regulation, safety) expressed by stakeholders, also paying attention to national specificities and to integrate and validate them on a comparative basis.

The work to be carried out is the following. The funding is allocated as a reimbursement of cost incurred for work on the project,

  • Option 1: Running Monitoring Station and Streetlab (maximum funding allocated: 8000 €)
  • Option 2: Running Monitoring Station only (maximum funding allocated: 3000 €)

Please find attached a description of the activities required for option 1 and 2. Please note that Third Parties are not partners in the project, their participation is restricted to the activities outlined in the description of work and in the agreement with Ecsite. Third parties are required to file financial and activity report on the activities performed, but not to attend project meetings or to follow all parts of the project work.

Please note that in order to be eligible to become Ecsite Third Party, you must have paid the 2011 Ecsite membership fee.
