Universcience 3 December 2013

Universcience ( Palais de la découverte & Cité des sciences et de l’industrie) is currently working on four new exhibitions projects. We are looking for co-producers and partner to produce upcoming traveling exhibitions:

- Darwin: the developing process of its theory, the controversies, the impact on yesterday and nowadays science;

- Cities: how are they changing? how are they changing our urban life?

Fondazione IDIS - Città della Scienza 12 November 2013

On November 7, 5,000 people took part to a big event to celebrate the reopening of the exhibition areas of Città della Scienza in Naples, Italy. Just after eight month from the tragic fire that completely destroyed the Science Centre, Città della Scienza starts again with public activities and programs to give a tangible answer that we will not give up! The huge solidarity and support received after March, not only from the Italian citizens but also from the international community, has been a wealth of extraordinary importance.

MUSE - Museo delle Scienze 3 July 2013

The eagerly-awaited MUSE – Museo delle Scienze opens its doors on 27 July 2013 in Trento, Italy. “Active, attractive and memorable are the three words that will best define the new science museum,” says Antonia Caola, MUSE’s Head of International and Public Affairs.

Visitors to MUSE will learn about science and technology from an environmental sustainability perspective; they will see how science, technology and innovation can contribute to finding effective solutions for the future of our planet.

Pavilhão do Conhecimento - Ciência Viva Science Centre 7 June 2013

Rosalia Vargas, President of Ciência Viva – Pavilion of Knowledge in Lisbon, Portugal, was voted new President of Ecsite at today’s Ecsite Annual General Meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden. Vargas is the first woman to hold this post. The Ecsite community warmly welcomes its new President and looks forward to working with her.

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – Ecsite, the European network of science centres and museums will draw close to 1,000 science communicators from accross Europe to its Annual Conference held this year at Universeum Science Discovery Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The three-day event will showcase the latest research and developments in science communication through dynamic sessions, debates, workshops and trade show called the Business Bistro.

We are pleased to announce that the Malta Council for Science and Technology is issuing a Call for Tenders for the provision of a Unique and Bespoke Brand Identity. The Malta Council for Science and Technology will commission a reputable individual or firm to perform tasks as specified in the Call for Tenders dossier.

Interested bidders are to submit a proposal clearly marked “MCST/21/2012: Call for Tenders for the Provision of the Creation of a Unique and Bespoke Brand Identity for the National Interactive Science Centre, Malta”.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center 27 May 2013

Intel BASEF is an annual scientific competition, organized by the Planetarium Science Center at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, for youths ages 14—18 years. Participants receive training in research and presentation skills through a comprehensive program conducted by the PSC team. Moreover, they receive technical and financial support during conducting their researches. Finally, they present their projects’ findings under 17 science and humanities themes.

Scitech’s Playing with Light exhibition has won the inaugural Creative Science Exhibit award at the annual Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centers (ASPAC) conference hosted at the National Science Museum in Daejeon, South Korea.

The award honours an exhibition that effectively realises science popularisation in a creative way.
