L’ideatorio is a service Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano, Switzerland) providing the opportunity to encounter science in an informal manner. Born in 2005 with the aim to promote a dialogue between science and society, during the last years it has been working out various projects: scientific exhibitions, scientific cafés, periodic Festivals of science, conferences into the schools, local and international projects for scientific communication and participative projects about controversial scientific themes. The regular projects proposed are:

• Activities at the science center located in Lugano (Exhibitions, Planetarium, Laboratory, Science vacations).
• Science and society Laboratory: monitoring and analysing the interrelations between citizens, institutions, science, and communication.
• Communication of science: collaboration with the Swiss public TV and radio for a scientific programme and pubblication ot the “Focus on research”, presenting research projects in progress in Switzerland.
