Crime lab

Inspector Inga has been assigned several tricky crime cases to solve. One of them is a mysterious death – could it be murder? Another is a painting stolen under suspicious circumstances.

Technicians have collected a good deal of evidence from the crime scenes and now need help to examine it. The Crime Lab is a theme where visitors, classes/groups become crime lab technicians and get to work on the evidence in the hunt for the guilty person. Using microscopes, various chemical analyses and a good deal of police equipment, they can reach certain conclusions regarding the case.

The exhibition has been put together by NAVET – the Swedish science centre in Borås – in collaboration with the police forensic unit.The display comprises a laboratory with microscopes and all the examination materials required. The work starts with a short drama presentation. NAVET’s designer sets up the exhibition while NAVET’s teacher/presenter trains those who are to supervise the lab work. The different cases suits different age groups, from ages 9 to 18. The Crime lab is one of the NAVET’s most successful and popular themes. Students work with great enthusiasm - it is exciting to help solve a crime.

• A script for the whole ‘performance’ including the crime scene investigation
