Road-STEAMer - Call for Offer: Graphic Designer for Website Toolbox

Ecsite, the European Network of Science Centres and Museums, is looking for a Graphic Designer to develop a visually engaging version of the Road-STEAMer Toolbox.

About Road-STEAMer

The overall aim of the Road-STEAMer project has been to develop a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) roadmap for science education in Horizon Europe, i.e. a plan of action that will provide guidance to EU's key funding programme for research and innovation on how to encourage more interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through the use of artistic approaches, involving creative thinking and applied arts (the “A” in STEAM).

The Toolbox

The Road-STEAMer Toolbox is one of the final outcomes of the Road-STEAMer project, designed to provide easy, structured, and user-friendly access to the project’s extensive results. It offers a curated synthesis of key insights, practical experiences, conceptual contributions, and policy recommendations developed throughout the project’s lifespan.

BRIEF

Ecsite is looking for a designer to create an attractive version of the Road-STEAMer Toolbox in line with the following criteria:

  • The ToolBox is expected to be screen-based, visual and uploaded to the website
  • Both the size and the type of file should be easy to share and download
  • Only professionals based in Europe will be considered.

OUR NEEDS

The overall design of this document should be based on the Road-STEAMer visual identity. Ecsite is looking for a designer to develop a shorter, concise version with the following characteristics:

Simplicity: A clear visualisation of relevant aspects, allowing the document to be useful
Practical: Make sure that the Toolbox is usable and accessible to the target audience
Consistency: Following the Road-TEAMer visual identity, the consistency of the design is expected to reinforce usability
Flexibility: To adapt and work on a set of already existing document and materials

TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

  • Hold meetings to understand the task at hand
  • Produce a Toolbox document for the Road-STEAMer Project

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The ability to design such items
  • Demonstrated track record of working on similar missions
  • Clear and well-defined working process
  • Relevance and creativity of the initial ideas presented in the proposal
  • Price efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent understanding and creative interpretation of the Road-STEAMer project’s vision

TIMING

  • 28th July 2025: applications due
  • 18th August 2025: First draft
  • 28th August 2025: Final document provided to the RoadSTEAMer consortium

  • A portfolio of similar projects, proving your ability to fulfil this mission
  • Explain your approach to working with clients and with Ecsite.
