Experimentarium 1 June 2016

Nils Hornstrup, Senior Science Consultant and former Deputy Director of Experimentarium has passed away on May 17th 2016 following a very brief illness.

European Space Agency - ESA 1 June 2016

The Space Group workshop “Space for Life - Develop and share resources”, organised by ESA and Ecsite will take place on 7–8 June at the Graz Art Museum, Kunshtaus. It will include a presentation of ESA highlights 2016-2018 and space news from the Austria Space Agency. Representatives of science centres and museums will work together on three pilot projects that will be developed with the support of ESA and shared within the Ecsite network during the next years. ESA will also be present at the Business Bistro. ESA will have a very special guest this year, Jean François Clervoy,who will take part in the preconference workhop and we'll be the main speaker at the session "Cooperation in the Space: the ISS"

The A’DAM LOOKOUT on the 20th and 21st floor of the A’DAM Tower on the IJ in Amsterdam is open to the public. The indoor and outdoor sky decks, offering 360 degrees’ views of Amsterdam, have been enriched by a series of unique, interactive visitor experiences designed by NorthernLight.

Having set up and run one of the UK’s leading science centres for the past 16 years, Linda Conlon is heading to China to share her knowledge with the country’s growing science centre industry.

Linda Conlon, MBE, Chief Executive of Newcastle’s International Centre for Life and Chair of the Association of Science and Technology Centres, ASTC, the global body representing science centres and museums, is heading to China to advise the country’s science centre industry on how to establish and maintain audiences through engaging science communication.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center 5 May 2016

As usual at this time of the year, the Planetarium Science Center at Bibliotheca Alexandrina opens registration for its Summer Program, for school students, ages 4-16. the program takes place during the period from May 22 to September 8 2016.
The program offers a variety of scientific activities, including a group of selected scientific workshops carefully designed to attract students and make learning an enjoyable experience.

Hüttinger Interactive Exhibitions 4 May 2016

The Brain Zone at Centre for Life

A new exhibition at the Life Science Centre will help us understand what’s going on inside our heads.

The Brain Zone, a new exhibition telling the story of the brain and how it works, revealing some of its secrets and exploring the techniques scientists use to study it, has opened at the Life Science Centre.

The exhibition was funded by the Wellcome Trust, one of the largest biomedical research charities in the world and was officially opened by its Chair, Baroness Manningham-Buller.
