Obama visits Ecsite member Miraikan in Tokyo

President Obama paid a visit to Ecsite member Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, Tokyo) end of last week. Addressing Japanese students, he identified “science, technology, maths and engineering” as crucial skills for the “global economy”.

He invited students to use their intelligence and energy to develop scientific and technological responses to future challenges like climate change: “Young people like you have at your fingertips more technology and power than even the greatest innovators in previous generations – there is no limit to what you can achieve.” President Obama also enjoyed meeting a football-playing robot.
