The Kiel Science Outreach Campus (KiSOC) studies the concepts and effects of different methods of presenting science to potential young academics as well as society’s various target groups. The purpose is to close the current research gap of numerous approaches but very little hard data on their effect and effectiveness. KiSOC is investigating, further developing, and evaluating a number of approaches in order to identify critical influences on the effectiveness of the chosen method. An additional focal point is the question of what role and influence the individuals play in the processes of communication. KiSOC is a joint endeavor of the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education and Kiel University.
