Ithaka Science Center

Ithaka Science Center is located in the south of the Netherlands, on the border with Germany. Ithaka Science Center complements the region’s educational institutions and supports schools students and their with a completely new concept in science education: a charter public laboratory and teacher training center with world-class equipment, scientific expertise, bridging, educational facilities, industry, and the community. It will support entertaining science programs that reach the entire community and serious research in science education and teacher training.

As a community-based science center with superior equipment, Ithaka Science Center will provide teachers and their students with activities that directly support national standards in Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Environmental Education. It will also be an after-school and weekend destination for young scientists and the general public.

Whether offered during the school day, after-school, or on weekends, programs for teachers and students will be inquiry-based, spurring questions, discussion, and interactive learning opportunities that expose participants to new ideas, and illustrate the connection between our daily lives and scientific principles.

As a destination for the general public-tourists and residents alike Ithaka Science Center will be designed to educate and entertain visitors from diverse background and cultures.
