Science in the 21st century is proving to be fast moving, potentially life-enhancing and certainly controversial. Life has grown out of a desire to deliver a science centre for the North East that is forward looking and seeks to offer these leading edge ideas in a form that is easily accessible to everyone.
In addition to making science understandable to a broad public, the Centre is also playing a part in raising standards in education and encouraging young people to see the potential of science in their lives – whether they choose to pursue a career in the subject or not. Science will continue to permeate our lives whether this concerns energy policy, earth sustainability, or life improvements in the health of humans.
