The Groninger Forum will become a new vibrant centre of cultural life in Groningen, a place to meet and socialize, a place for information, actuality, leisure and exploration. The true new cultural heart of the city! Until its opening in 2019 the Groninger Forum will remain situated at two separate locations: the cinema at the Hereplein and the Library at the Oude Boteringestraat. The districts Selwerd, Vinkhuizen, Beijum, Lewenborg, De Wijert and Hoogkerk will be represented by six local district departments of the Groninger Forum.

The Groninger Forum aims to inspire and invite, and wants to challenge people to see beyond their backyard. It will be a 'newseum' that informs us about today's world, and will provide us with new insights. It is a meeting place for people who are interested in the world around them.
