Catalyst - Science Discovery Centre

Catalyst is an independent charitable trust whose aim is to make science exciting and accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Panoramic views across Cheshire can be enjoyed from the rooftop “Observatory” reached by an external scenic glass lift. Visitors can explore “Scientrific” a gallery containing fun, hands-on exhibits about making and using chemicals. “Birth of an Industry” houses the museum element of the centre and investigates the rise of the chemical industry with amazing archive material and life-like reconstructions.
During term time science workshops take place in the modern Catalytic Discovery Lab and with activities during school holidays, the whole family get to join in!
Our Alchemy Theatre can take you on an unforgettable journey of discovery, the interactive films with 3D and individual voting makes each showing unique! Then to gain an insight into careers within science based industries visitors can browse DVD clips and interactive displays in our unique “World of Opportunities” gallery.
Also on offer is free car parking, a gift shop and the Elements cafe, the perfect place to enjoy a tasty snack whilst admiring the riverside views.
