A pilot project that was established by funding from EU as the first step to show the general Palestinian public, and youth in particular, that science and technology are both accessible and enjoyable; that each person, whatever his or her background is, can achieve some agree of understanding and derive some degree of satisfaction and excitement from an encounter with the world of science and technology. While the formal educational system has a central role in this task, an interactive Science Discovery Center can complement this role and reach a wider public; in particular families whose support is vital for educational success. The project contains more than 35 exhibits focused on the basic themes of electricity & magnetism, mechanics, light, sound & waves. Training guides, cooperating in preparing educational materials in Arabic, and cooperating, planning and implementing educational programmes for visitors (school classes and others) will enable Al-Quds to formally establish, manage and develop the interactive Science Discovery Center at Al-Quds University. The SDC currently offers free entrance to sshool isitors from all over the Palestinian terretories.
