The pre conference activities will be held at Cité de l’espace while the main conference will take place in a modern congress centre.
Pre-Conference (May 29-30) and Nocturne (June 1)
Cité de l’espace
Opened in 1997, Cité de l’espace is the main space theme park to visit in Europe. In its role as both an educational and an entertainment park, the Cité de l’espace aims to encourage the dissemination of scientific culture, working closely with many scientific, industrial and educational partners. Throughout the year, it welcomes up to 300 000 visitors from both the general public and many scholar groups.
Located on the east side of Toulouse, as an edutainment site offers two planetariums, an Imax® 3D theatre, conference rooms, life-size spacecraft, and interactive exhibits in a 5 hectare park. The park allows visitors to experience every aspect of space: astronomy, life in space, rocket launches, space telecommunications, Earth observation, weather forecasting, etc.
For Ecsite 2012, delegates will attend the Pre-Conference workshops at Cité de l’espace and will also have a tremendous evening at the centre on June 1 for our Nocturne where we will have the chance to visit the space park and the newly renovated exhibitions, attend shows (among other exciting surprises). Gastronomy, good music and a nice southern atmosphere will be “au rendez-vous” in the social programme.

The Pierre Baudis Congress Centre
Ideally located in the city centre in a green environment of seven hectares, at only 15 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from Cité de l’espace, and within walking distance to the Place du Capitole the heart of the city, the Pierre Baudis Congress Centre is a modern venue offering high quality facilities for corporate events and conventions.
