Innovator Carlo Ratti to speak at Ecsite 2012

Carlo Ratti, Italian architect and engineer, will deliver the keynote address at the Ecsite Annual Conference 2012.

Ratti earned himself a place on Esquire Magazine’s Best and Brightest list in 2008 and was featured in Seed Magazine’s Salon, together with mathematician Steven Strogatz. He presented as a delegate in January 2009 to the World Economic Forum in Davos. In 2011, he spoke at a TED conference in Longbeach, California, USA.

Ratti directs the Senseable City Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Boston, USA. The lab investigates different aspects of the built environment of cities (street grids, plumbing, waste collection systems, etc) using technology that changes the way human beings understand the urban landscape. Ratti is currently developing a new lab in Singapore that will focus on the future of urban mobility.
