Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums and Ecsite are partnering up for the first time 2016. Hands On! will be running a special pre-conference workshop, open to all.

This one-day session will be held on 8 June 2016. In addition to a programme of keynote speakers in the morning (9-12 am) and study visits (2-5 pm) in the afternoon, the Hands On! organisers have reserved time for the input of HO! and Ecsite members. They invite you to give a ten-minute presentation on 8 June with or without visual support, to present your best practices with reference to the topic “Colours of Cooperation”. It should be related to one of the following categories: cooperations with universities, museums or science centers, private companies (for businesses), international cooperations, schools and nursery schools.
As they cannot include everything/everyone in our program, they kindly request you to submit your proposal latest by 23 December 2015. Your proposal should include a short description of yourself, your organisation and the subject of your presentation (minimum 200 words). The subject is unrestricted as long as it has a connection with our topic “cooperations.”
It may include the vision of your organization in relation to “cooperations” and how this is executed, how your organization approaches possible partners, successful program, obstacles, future plans or something specific that your organization is currently involved.

A committee will inform you in January 2016 which proposals are most suitable for the pre-conference.

Hands On! and Ecsite are convinced that their respective networks have a lot to share and learn from each other. This is way this year- in resonance with the “Colours of Cooperation” theme- Ecsite and Hands On! members are welcomed with a special series of events.
Besides the pre-conference on 8 June there is also a strand of children-related sessions on 9 June.
The Children in Museums Award ceremony will also be held at the Ecsite Gala Evening on 9 June, jointly with the Mariano Ecsite Awards.
