The Kick-off meeting of the project PLACES – Platform of Local Authorities and Communicators Engaged in Science took place the 9th Julyn the premises of the Ecsite Executive office in Brussels. The objectives, priorities, issues and strategic vision of PLACES were presented and debated, and the plan of work for the first year of the project was fine-tuned.

Besides the Partners (Ecsite, EUSCEA, ERRIN and UPF) the meeting counted with the presence of the European Commission Project Officer, who presented the European perspectives in which PLACES stands, notably the agendas of the Science in Society programme, of ERA, the Lisbon strategy and Europe 2020.
The PLACES project is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme and coordinated by Ecsite.
